Abstract
This article examines the process of formation and the main stages of historical development of the science of historical reconstruction. The research analyzes the emergence of historical reconstruction as an independent scientific field, its close relationship with archaeology, history, anthropology, and natural sciences, as well as its methodological foundations. Special attention is paid to the role of historical reconstruction in restoring past social processes, material culture, and everyday life. In addition, the practical significance of historical reconstruction in modern historical research, education, museum studies, and cultural heritage preservation is highlighted. The article substantiates the relevance of historical reconstruction as a multidisciplinary scientific direction that contributes to a deeper understanding of the past.
