Abstract

Chronic pain is a complex health condition that persists beyond normal tissue healing time, typically lasting longer than three months. It affects physical, psychological, and social well-being, often reducing the quality of life for millions worldwide. This paper provides an overview of the physiological mechanisms of chronic pain, its common causes, and the modern approaches to diagnosis and management. The study emphasizes that chronic pain should be treated as a multidimensional condition, requiring an integrated approach that includes pharmacological therapy, physical rehabilitation, and psychological support. Effective chronic pain management not only alleviates suffering but also improves patients’ overall health outcomes.
