Abstract
Blood transfusion is a medical prosedure used to replace lost blood or blood components in patients suffering from severe bleeding, trauma, or certain blood disorders. It plays a vital role in maintaining oxygen transport, blood volume and overall circulation in the body. The process involves collecting blood from healthy donors, testing it for compatibility and infections and safely transfusing it into recipients. Although blood transfusion saves millions of lives every year, it also carries certain risks such as allergic reactions, infections and iron overload. Continous research and improved technologies have made transfusion medicine safer and more effictive, ensuring better outcomes for patients in need.
