Abstract

Blood transfusion is a life-saving medical procedure that involves transferring blood or its components from a donor to a recipient. It is widely used in trauma care, surgery, obstetrics, hematology, and oncology to restore blood volume, improve oxygen delivery, and correct coagulation abnormalities. This paper provides an overview of the principles and procedures of blood transfusion, including blood group compatibility, indications, safety measures, and clinical challenges. The study highlights the significant role of transfusion medicine in modern healthcare and emphasizes the importance of donor screening, cross-matching, and monitoring to prevent adverse reactions.
