Abstract

Role-play and drama activities have emerged as powerful pedagogical tools in English language teaching, particularly for enhancing students’ motivation, confidence, and communicative competence. This study explores how incorporating dramatic performance, improvisation, and role-based interaction can create a dynamic and engaging learning environment. By simulating real-life situations, students are encouraged to use English creatively and spontaneously, thus improving fluency and reducing anxiety. The findings indicate that drama-based activities not only foster self-expression and teamwork but also help learners develop empathy and cultural awareness. Implementing role-play in English lessons can significantly increase motivation and build confidence, making language learning a more enjoyable and authentic experience.
