Abstract

Vocabulary is essential for mastering any language, yet traditional methods such as rote memorization often fail to engage learners effectively. This article explores the integration of educational games into English vocabulary teaching, highlighting their advantages over conventional approaches. Games provide meaningful contexts, enhance student engagement, and align with the preferences of digital-native learners. The literature review emphasizes the significance of vocabulary in language proficiency and discusses the benefits of contextual learning. Various types of games, from Bingo to Scrabble, are analyzed for their ability to reinforce vocabulary through practical application, teamwork, and fun. Despite some limitations, such as time constraints and classroom management challenges, the use of games demonstrates significant potential in promoting vocabulary retention and practical usage.
