Abstract

This thesis examines the practical usage of the verb "to be" in English, with a focus on its present tense forms: "am," "is," and "are." These forms are essential in constructing nominal sentences, passive voice, and continuous tenses. The paper analyzes how these forms are used in everyday speech and written texts, as well as how they are translated into Uzbek, a language that often omits such auxiliary verbs. The thesis also highlights common challenges learners face and offers practical strategies for accurate translation and understanding.
