Abstract
In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the most influential technologies in the field of education, particularly in foreign language teaching and learning. The integration of AI tools into English language education has created new opportunities for both teachers and students by providing personalized learning experiences, immediate feedback, and access to various digital resources. This paper examines the impact of artificial intelligence on English language teaching and learning, focusing on its advantages, applications, and possible challenges. AI-based technologies such as language learning applications, automated assessment systems, virtual assistants, and conversational tools help students improve their vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and communication skills. Moreover, AI allows learners to study independently according to their individual needs and learning pace. For teachers, artificial intelligence provides support in lesson planning, creating educational materials, and evaluating students’ progress. However, despite its benefits, the use of AI also presents certain challenges, including dependence on technology, data privacy issues, and the need for teachers to develop digital competencies. The study concludes that artificial intelligence can significantly enhance English language education when it is used effectively and combined with traditional teaching approaches. AI should be considered not as a replacement for teachers, but as a powerful tool that supports more effective, interactive, and learner-centered language instruction.
