Abstract
This article highlights the essential role of language as the foundation of human communication and focuses on reading comprehension as a fundamental language skill. It emphasizes the critical importance of primary education, particularly for 5th-grade students, in developing foundational reading skills including phonics, morphology, and sentence construction. Furthermore, the paper discusses how reading comprehension expands students' vocabulary, cognitive prospects, and critical thinking abilities. Finally, it underlines the significance of English language teaching in primary curricula and the decisive role of teachers in fostering learners' overall academic and linguistic competency.
