Abstract
The article covers the periodic development of ethnocentrism in the foreign policy of European states in specific periods. The study analyzes the development of ethnocentric views from ancient antiquity, the Middle Ages, the great kingdoms, colonialism, imperialism, the World Wars, The Cold War era, and the modern era. The fact that Europe promoted its values as a dominant model gave rise to foreign policy dominance, which caused controversy. Ethnocentrism occupies a place and has a significant impact on international relations as a permanent component of European foreign policy.
