Abstract
This article discusses the essence of international sports terminology, its significance within the sports system, as well as the theoretical and practical foundations of the standardization process. The study analyzes the close relationship between the formation of a unified terminological system in sports and the activities of international sports organizations. Furthermore, the article scientifically substantiates the role of terms approved by international sports organizations such as the International Olympic Committee (IOC), FIFA, UEFA, and others in sports practice. The paper also highlights how the standardization of terminology ensures accuracy, fairness, and mutual understanding in international sports competitions.
