Abstract
Listening is a fundamental component of language acquisition and plays a crucial role in the development of communicative competence. This article examines the importance of listening skills in English language learning, explores various strategies for improving listening comprehension, and analyzes the challenges faced by learners. It also highlights modern approaches, including the use of authentic materials and digital technologies, to enhance listening proficiency. The study argues that listening is an active and complex cognitive process that requires systematic training and exposure. The article concludes that effective listening instruction combines strategic practice, learner autonomy, and technological support.
