Abstract

This article examines the economic and international trade consequences of the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union. By comparing the initial promises of the pro-Brexit campaign with actual macroeconomic outcomes, the paper argues that Brexit has largely failed to deliver its anticipated financial benefits. The analysis highlights significant reductions in GDP and trade intensity, alongside severe disruptions to both domestic and cross-border supply chains.
