Abstract

Islam places profound emphasis on mercy, universal ethical values, and social responsibility, forming a comprehensive framework for moral behavior. This study employs a qualitative approach, including literature review, thematic analysis, and case studies, to explore how these principles manifest in both scriptural teachings and contemporary practice. Analysis reveals that mercy, as emphasized in the Qur’an and Hadith, guides interpersonal conduct and ethical decision-making. Universal ethical principles, such as justice, human dignity, and moral responsibility, are consistently promoted and applied in community governance and social initiatives. Institutionalized social responsibility, exemplified through zakat, voluntary charity, and community development projects, demonstrates the practical implementation of Islamic ethics. The findings indicate that Islamic teachings provide a coherent, actionable moral framework capable of shaping individual character and fostering communal welfare. These principles are relevant for understanding ethical conduct in modern societies and have potential implications for interfaith dialogue, social policy, and global ethical discourse.
