Abstract
This article explores a comparative analysis between the Grammar-Translation Method (GTM) and the Communicative Approach (CA) in English language teaching. Both methods have significantly influenced language pedagogy throughout history. While GTM emphasizes the mastery of grammatical rules and translation skills, CA focuses on the ability to communicate effectively in real-life contexts. The study discusses their theoretical foundations, teaching techniques, advantages, and limitations. The conclusion suggests that a balanced integration of both methods can lead to more effective English language instruction in the modern classroom.
