Abstract

В статье исследуется гидронимический термин «Жетысай», его этимологическое происхождение, распространение в Средней Азии и связь с физико-географическими и культурно-историческими особенностями региона. Рассматриваются варианты интерпретации названия, а также анализируется топоним «Арнасой» как один из ключевых гидрологических объектов Голодной степи. Выводы подтверждают тюркское происхождение термина и его связь с природными особенностями региона.
