Abstract
In recent years, interest in phytotherapy has been steadily increasing; however, the safety of herbal mixtures remains insufficiently studied. This article examines the toxicological adverse effects, statistical data, and pharmacoeconomic analysis of tea prepared from Phytolacca americana (pokeweed or fitolakt). The study employed phytochemical analysis, toxicological experiments, clinical observations, and pharmacoeconomic evaluation methods. The results indicate that fitolakt tea can cause gastrointestinal disorders and central nervous system disturbances at high doses, while at low doses it may support immune function. The pharmacoeconomic analysis confirmed its economic advantage over conventional pharmaceutical agents. The findings of this research serve as a basis for developing evidence-based recommendations for the rational use of fitolakt tea in phytotherapy.
