Abstract

Breast milk is the most important and natural source of nutrition for infants from the very first minutes after birth up to the age of six months. However, according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), only 44% of infants worldwide are exclusively breastfed during the first six months of life. Various scientific sources report that the prevalence of hypogalactia ranges from 10% to 35%. In Uzbekistan, this indicator accounts for 17–22%.

It has been biologically substantiated that the compounds anethole, estragole, and flavonoids present in anise seeds possess galactagogue (milk-stimulating) properties. These substances stimulate the activity of the mammary glands and enhance prolactin secretion. It has been determined that regular consumption of anise seeds helps restore hormonal balance in the maternal body. In particular, the physiological balance between prolactin and oxytocin levels is re-established, leading to increased secretory activity of the mammary glands. In addition, women’s overall condition—sleep quality, appetite, emotional stability, and level of fatigue—shows significant improvement.
