Abstract

This study examines the relationship between cultural values and politeness norms in English and Uzbek speech communities. It analyzes how cultural factors, such as collectivism, individualism, social status, and family ties, shape communication styles and expressions of respect. The research highlights similarities and differences in politeness strategies, showing how language reflects broader societal values.
