Abstract
In this study, the effectiveness of using geosynthetic materials (geotextile and flat geogrids) in strengthening the main area of the railway track was assessed through monitoring. The monitoring system included the stages of input, operational, and receiving control. The main control objects were geometric parameters, soil moisture and degree of compaction, the quality of laying and fixing of geosynthetic materials. The results of instrumental and laboratory observations showed that when using geosynthetic materials, the deformations of the earthwork are reduced by 20-25%, uniform soil compaction is ensured, and the modulus of elasticity of the main area meets the level of regulatory requirements. The research results confirmed the possibility of widespread use of geosynthetic materials in the repair of railway lines and the construction of new tracks.
