Abstract

The vocabulary of a language plays a crucial role in communication and the development of ideas. In English, vocabulary enrichment occurs through various linguistic processes, including word formation, borrowing, and the creation of new words to reflect technological and cultural changes. This article explores these methods in detail, comparing them with the vocabulary enrichment techniques in the Uzbek language. Both languages share similar approaches, such as affixation, compounding, and the adoption of loanwords. However, the extent to which these methods are applied varies due to cultural, historical, and social differences. The article also discusses how globalization and technological advancements influence vocabulary expansion in both languages.
