Abstract
Language barriers present significant challenges in global communication, impacting various sectors such as business, education, healthcare, and diplomacy. With over 7,000 languages worldwide, linguistic diversity, cultural nuances, and limited multilingual proficiency often hinder effective interaction. This article explores the causes and consequences of language barriers, highlighting their role in miscommunication, reduced collaboration, and missed opportunities in an increasingly interconnected world. It also examines potential solutions, including the promotion of multilingual education, advancements in translation technology, and cultural sensitivity training. Additionally, the article evaluates the role of English as a global lingua franca, addressing both its benefits and limitations. By understanding and addressing these barriers, societies can foster better cross-cultural understanding and global cooperation.
