Abstract
This article explores how being a multilingual person can bring benefits and challenges during life and work. Also, the paper shows that what is the origin of multilingualism and today its main definition. In today’s modernized world, knowing more than a language may be useful for people both personal growth and academic career. Although, being multilingual person provide many advantages, such as getting a well-paid job in labor market. In addition, they are more likely to enhance their cognitive abilities, including problem-solving skills, multitasking and memory recall. However, there are several downsides which individuals may face during learning a second language, such as hesitation which language prioritizes in multilingual settings, and which one is more suitable for world’s demand.
