Abstract

The results of the study showed that post-COVID pneumonia is one of the most common chronic respiratory diseases in preschool children. The main clinical symptoms include cough, shortness of breath, wheezing respiration, and fatigue, which significantly affect the child’s general condition and physical activity.

In children infected with SARS-CoV-2, pneumonia often presents in a mild or asymptomatic form; however, in every fifth child, pneumonia manifests as the primary symptom.

Post-COVID pneumonia is a widespread chronic respiratory condition in children. The study findings indicate that cough, dyspnea, wheezing respiration, and fatigue are the most frequent clinical manifestations.

Laboratory findings demonstrated that inflammatory markers (CRP and procalcitonin) were slightly elevated, indicating an ongoing inflammatory process in the body. General blood and biochemical parameters remained within normal ranges, and no signs of liver or kidney failure were detected.
