Abstract
This article examines the impact of play-based learning on the cognitive and social development of primary school students. As research increasingly supports the integration of play into early education, play-based learning has emerged as a powerful tool for engaging students in meaningful exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration. The paper explores different forms of educational play—including guided play, role-play, and free play—and how each contributes to essential skills such as language development, memory, cooperation, and critical thinking. It also outlines practical strategies for integrating purposeful play into the classroom to foster deeper engagement and more holistic learning outcomes.
