Abstract
This article examines the translation of linguocultural units, particularly food realia, in Sidney Sheldon’s If Tomorrow Comes and its Russian and Uzbek translations. The study analyzes the strategies used to render culturally specific food names and identifies differences in preserving their national and cultural meanings. The findings show that transliteration combined with explanation is an effective way of conveying food realia and maintaining their cultural specificity.
