Abstract

This article analyzes the role and significance of syntax in artistic speech. It highlights not only the grammatical but also the aesthetic functions of syntactic units and reveals the functional features of such devices as sentence structure, word order, inversion, syntactic repetition, ellipsis, antithesis, and gradation in literary texts. Based on examples from various writers, the use of syntactic means and their role in conveying the rhythm, tone, and psychological state of characters are examined. The study substantiates that syntax serves as an important expressive tool in artistic discourse.
