Abstract
This article examines methods for developing problem analysis skills in primary school mathematics. The study focuses on pupils’ difficulties in interpreting word problems and identifying mathematical relationships between quantities. Instructional approaches based on identifying known and unknown values, representing situations with diagrams, and justifying the choice of operations are described. The results indicate that systematic analytical practice improves mathematical reasoning, accuracy of solutions, and independence in problem solving.
